Broad Futures

The Broad Futures website aims to give school staff access to resources relating to the Broads that will help them to embed Learning for Sustainability.

You can download a one page 'Cycle of Support' document here which summarises all of the main contacts and resources to help you to embed Learning for Sustainability in the Broads.

If you would like to like to establish a Broads/Sustainability topic in your school you may like to consider following the following pathway:

1. Explore the support available here on this website

2. Print a copy of the Broads cycle of support

3. Arrange to attend one of the upcoming INSET days

4. Share your ideas with colleagues back at school

5. Work with SMT to include Learning for Sustainability in your School Improvement Plan

6. Arrange whole-school INSET by contacting us

7. Use activity ideas and case studies to help with designing a topic

8. Use details of places to visit in the Broads to select a location for a field trip

9. Arrange to borrow equipment

10. Pilot your topic with your young people

11. Tell everyone about your fantastic work by sending us an informal case study

12. Email: broadfutures@norfolk.gov.uk

The Broad Futures Project is a Norfolk County Council Environmental and Outdoor Learning Team Initiative and was funded by the Broads Authority Sustainable Development Fund, Norfolk County Council, The How Hill Trust and EEDEN’s Global Dimensions in Education Fund (part of the Department for International Development’s Enabling Effective Support strategy).
