Peer network

Networking with peers provides a platform for sharing best practices and lessons learned in governance, allowing members to improve decision-making processes while fostering a sense of community and collaboration among peers. We offer two networking groups, digitally hosted on GovernorHub for subscribing board members. These spaces are lead by you as governors with oversight and helpful input from The Governance Service team.

First Year Network

A comprehensive induction is crucial because it equips you with the knowledge and understanding needed to fulfil your roles effectively. Our First Year Network provides a shared online space for those new to role to share experience with a cohort of governors in the same position. A safe platform for the first 12 months of your governance life to ask the questions and feel supported by those in the same position.

COGNet

Sometimes the chair of governor's role can feel like a lonely one. Our Chair of Governors Network, COGNet is invaluable as it provides a forum for you to share experiences, strategies, dilemmas and challenges with your peers in a safe online space. Sometimes the challenges faced by COGs do not fit neatly within the bounds of rules and regulations, so the opportunity to bounce round best practice with an understanding audience is invaluable.
