Be Switched On - Free Bike Lights offer

Information

Be Switched On is helping young cyclists improve their visibility when riding.

In a current survey, only 11% children aged between 10-11 years, reported having a front and rear light on their bike.

Norfolk County Council Road Safety Team is excited to announce secured funding from the Norfolk Safety Camera Partnership to offer front and back cycle lights, whilst stock lasts to Year 6 children who complete their Level 2 Bikeability Course (delivered by Norfolk County Council commissioned Bikeability providers - Outspoken, Pedal Power and SJ3 Outdoors) across Norfolk school's network. (Subject to stock levels)

This is part the wider Norfolk 'Be Switched On' Campaign, where the aim is to reach young cyclists to:

  • Ensure more young cyclists have access to both a front and back bicycle lights.
  • Promote the benefits of using bike lights both during the day and at night.
  • Support those transitioning to secondary school.
