Understanding Attainment and Progress Data

Course description:

All governors need to have the skills to be able to understand the performance data of their school, so that they can challenge and support the school's leaders. This session aims to demystify National and School attainment and progress data, whilst highlighting how this can be used to identify the school's strengths and weaknesses to inform decision making and challenge.

By the end of the session delegates will:

• Understand the range of school data and how it is presented
• Understand the current accountability framework
• Appreciate the importance of school data for planning improvement
• Know what appropriate questions to ask to support and challenge the school.
