DSL meetings

DSL meetings should take place to monitor and review safeguarding arrangements in place. This model will support schools to ensure that there is clear management oversight of the safeguarding function and will provide opportunities to review cases of concern. These meetings also give time to reflecting on the practice of individual DSLs but also as a school; exploring what happened, what took place, why particular decisions were made, and how these impacted the children and family.  Reflection and curiosity questions may enable deeper reflection.  This reflection and time for discussion lend itself to continually learning by identifying what went well, what could have done better and therefore how things could be done differently next time.
