Funded places for foster children

A child in foster care can access the extended offer of funded early education provided certain criteria is met:

The child is eligible to access the 3 and 4 year old early education universal offer
The ability to access the extended hours is consistent with the child's care plan, placing the child at the centre of the process and decision making
In single foster parent families, the foster parent holds additional paid employment outside of their role as a foster carer or in two foster parent families, both partners hold additional paid employment outside of their role as a foster carer

It will be necessary to provided evidence to the social worker of their paid employment.

Families should discuss the options available to them with their social worker.
