Learning and SEND twilight: KIDS mediation and disagreement resolution

This information session on 2^nd July 2024 is for mainstream educational settings and other external stakeholders regarding resolving SEND related disagreements. 

In this session, Susanna Diegel, Head of Mediation at KIDS, will aim to provide an overview of how SEND Mediation and Disagreement Resolution can be accessed by education providers to help resolve disagreements around LA statutory SEND related decisions and for entrenched conflicts between education providers and parents/carers/young people.

There will be time in the session to ask questions and to discuss anonymised scenarios.

Attendees will be able to

• Understand the role of the impartial mediator
• Understand the types of disagreements that can be resolved
• Know when to make a referral to the service and who can refer
