Big Norfolk Holiday Fun - Updates and Opportunities

FAO: Teachers and Support Workers , 8 July 2024 09:39
For Staff

With the school summer holidays fast approaching, there are still places available for the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme.

Choose from a variety of activities and up to 16 sessions for children to access - from outdoor adventures, to team sports, to arts and crafts, there will be something for everybody.

We recognise that several schools have joined us for our BNHF scheme to host activities - thank you to all who have taken part in this.

Below are some further updates which will help you support the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme to eligible benefits-related children and families.

Help us promote the programme:

If you haven't done so already, please download our promoter pack: Download the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun promoter pack here.

Materials include digital flyers to go home in bookbags, social media assets and copy to go into your school newsletters and websites.

Personal Assistant (PA) scheme:

The NCC Short Breaks Team and Active Norfolk have worked hard to develop a PA payment scheme to enable more children to take part.

Any child who is on benefits-related free school meals and has a personal assistant, can have their PA accompany them.

Families must apply and have the offer confirmed before they book. Information on this scheme is HERE.

BNHF Bank Staff:

Would you like to help in the summer holidays? We are looking for experienced people who work with children and young people to join us to support our activity providers as and when needed.

We are especially keen to hear from anyone who can assist children with an EHCP who need 1-2-1 support.

If you are interested, and have time this summer holiday, please complete this form and we will be in touch.

If you have further questions about the programme, please email: bnhf@norfolk.gov.uk.

Benefits-related Free School Meals:

Please remind families that Universal Free School Meals is not the same as benefits-related Free School Meals. Further information can be found here.

Encouraging families to register will help raise extra funds for your school (called Pupil Premium).

This Government funding can help with extra tuition, teaching and after school activities.

If you have any questions, please email the team on bnhf@norfolk.gov.uk or visit our FAQ page here

Thanks to everyone in advance for all your continued support.
