Refer for Legal Intervention

This section will guide you through the process of submitting a referral for legal intervention. If you require further assistance, please contact the Attendance Team at 01603 223681.

If the referral is for absence that occurred prior to the 19 August 2024 and whereby a fixed penalty notice would be suitable (holiday in term time) please continue to use the 'Fixed penalty notice referral'

If the referral is for absence that occurred after the 19 August 2024, please use the new 'Legal Intervention for school attendance referral'.

Both referrals can be found on the right-hand side of this page.

Guidance for using the NEW Legal Intervention for school attendance referral

The new Legal Intervention for school attendance referral form has improved functionality that allows the referrer to save 'in progress' referrals. To access this function, you must create a 'My Norfolk account' and log in when completing the referral form.

Register for a My Norfolk account

To register for a My Norfolk account is simple, the following steps should help you navigate the process.

Select sign up now within the sign in page, where you will be directed to enter your email address
Click the 'Send verification code' that sits beneath the email address field. This will send a code to your email address which you will then need to enter before completing the form
Create a password
Enter your first and last name
Finally click the create button

Please note you do not have to create an account and you are still able to submit referrals without a My Norfolk account. However, you will be unable to save and return to your referral and it will have to be completed and submitted in one sitting or risk the form timing out.
