A practical and comprehensive training course for EAL Leads/Coordinators
Are you an EAL Lead who is new to the role or looking for some professional development to develop your skills and knowledge? Do you want to learn how to comply with the latest guidance and legislation, and deliver effective provision for your EAL learners?
If so, this course is for you!
This course is fully funded for all schools, who can access up to two places. Know how to ensure your EAL CYP and their families feel welcome, safe and included to engage fully with school life and reach their academic potential.
The course will be delivered by experienced EAL Advisers, who will provide you with expert advice and support. You will also have the opportunity to network with other EAL Leads and share good practice.
It is designed to help you:
- Understand relevant guidance and legislation that schools need to be compliant with, and solutions to meet the demands effectively
- Secure a whole-school culture to ensure children and young people with EAL and their families feel welcome, safe and included
- Identify key challenges and have practical approaches, that are realistically achievable within your school context
- Audit current provision and develop a whole-school approach action plan that enables you to measure progress and evidence impact
- Use evidence-based assessment, teaching and learning strategies with consistency across your school.
The course will run from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm and will include refreshments and lunch.
