Big Norfolk Holiday Fun - Bookings Open Soon
Next week, we will launch the winter Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme. Below is some information to help you to supporting children and young people to access the programme.
The Programme
The Big Norfolk Holiday Fun (BNHF) programme provides holiday activities for children and young people aged 4-16 in Norfolk.
Children eligible for benefits-related free school meals can claim 4 free spaces on the winter programme, whilst paid spots are available on many activities for those who don't.
Here are some activities your child can look forward to:
Premier Education
Premier Education's Holiday Camps are designed to help your kids get active, introduce them to new and exciting activities, and create a fun-filled experience they will remember. With great value sports, performing arts, and games to enjoy, we have plenty for your children to get stuck into.
Echo Youth Theatre
At Echo Youth Theatre, activities are all themed and based on a theatre skill: acting, musical theatre, dance - but each day will also include a craft activity and a food activity, so there will be plenty to keep everyone entertained. No previous experience or skills required - suitable for both beginners and experienced performers.
Seabreeze Daycare (SEND)
Seabreeze SEND provides a safe and inclusive environment for children of all abilities to enjoy exciting and inclusive activities. There is support available for children with complex needs such as Special Educational Needs and epilepsy.
Referrals
We have a small amount of funding available for children and young people not in receipt of benefits-related free school meals, but who would get a lot from taking part in the programme for free.
These BNHF Awarded places are limited and are subject to referral criteria.
Referrals for these places should come from professionals rather than parents, and the form to refer a child is here.
Please remember the following:
- Please check with the family that the child isn't already in receipt of benefits-related free school meals. Families can check here.
- Please be aware that just because one child in a family is eligible, not all their children may be!
- Universal free school meals for reception to Year 2 (approx. 7 years old) is different from benefits-related free school meals. Families can check eligibility here.
- Please try to apply as soon as possible, ideally before the end of the school term before delivery starts.
BNHF Bank Staff
We are looking for experienced people who work with children and young people to join us to support our activity providers as and when needed.
We are especially keen to hear from anyone who can assist children with additional needs who need 1-2-1 support.
If you are interested, and have time this winter, please complete this form and we will be in touch.
If you have further questions about the programme, please email bnhf@norfolk.gov.uk.
