Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) Graduated Offer of Support for Schools and Settings

The RSHE Graduated Offer of Support is a revised programme of support, ensuring Norfolk schools and settings are well positioned to enable all children and young people to Flourish.

What is the new RSHE Graduated Offer of Support?

The Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education (RSHE) Graduated Offer of fully funded support is a comprehensive and flexible programme, providing schools and settings with the guidance and tools to meet the RSHE needs of children and young people, including those with SEND. The offer supports schools and settings to navigate the government funded support to develop whole-school approaches to an effective provision.

From next academic year, the updated website will provide a one-stop shop for schools to access a range of high-quality and fully funded CPD and resources that support the implementation of the RSHE Graduated Offer of Support. The website will feature:

• One Minute Guides: Signposting to nationally available, accredited CPD and resources that secure compliance with key guidance and legislation.
• Bitesize Briefings: Providing timely and relevant information and tips on topics such as RSHE Guidance Updates, RSE Week and Safer Internet Day.
• RSHE Toolkit: Including practical and user-friendly tools that help schools to audit, plan, and deliver effective RSHE provision. 

We also offer fully-funded training for RSHE leads. 

Our locally delivered in-person CPD

Contextualised and tailored training sessions for new to role (RSHE Now! Primary, RSHE Now! Secondary) and established RSHE Leads (RSHE Next!).

This is delivered by an RSHE Adviser will ensure your school has everything it needs to be fully compliant with current guidance and deliver a needs-led, effective RSHE curriculum. 

RSHE Now will enable you to:

• Understand updated guidance and legislation that schools need to be compliant with and identify solutions to meet the demands effectively.
• Identify practical approaches to securing stakeholder engagement from across the school community, including children and young people, their families and teaching staff.
• Design and develop a policy and curriculum that is compliant with the guidance and meets the needs of your school.  
• Use evidence-based assessment, teaching and learning strategies with consistency. 
• Audit current provision and develop a whole-school approach action plan that enables you to measure progress and evidence impact.
• Secure a whole-school approach to enable RSHE to realise your school values and vision, supporting with SMSC and British values, safe-guarding and the Equalities Act. 

RSHE Next will build on RSHE Now, enabling you to:

• Consider methodology and practical activities to embedding an effective provision of RSHE throughout whole-school practice, permeating ethos, and culture.
• Use RSHE to respond to emerging school challenges, through targeted approaches.
• Use learning support staff effectively within the classroom, including supporting CYP with SEND, and for 1:1 or small group interventions.
• Engage effectively with families, enabling them to have confidence in your curriculum and build on the learning at home.
• Lead a staff teaching and learning CPD session, so all staff can teach with knowledge, skills, and confidence.
• Know how to monitor and assess RSHE, to gain evidence of impact and demonstrate outstanding provision for Ofsted.
