Places are now available for a free summit event to support mainstream early years, schools, and further education settings with SEND and inclusion. Many thanks to all those who have already signed up, it's been a really positive response.

Executive Director of Norfolk Children's Services, Sara Tough OBE, and Independent Chair of Norfolk Local First Inclusion Executive Board, Mark Vickers MBE, will be giving their perspectives on inclusion and talking about their involvement with the DfE on national reform. There will also be an end of the day keynote speech from Lee Owston, HMI Ofsted National Director for Education.

School leaders, trust chief executive officers and SENCos should have already received an email about this event, which we're calling the Local First Inclusion Summit. It's on Friday 14 February at County Hall in Norwich.

We still have some spaces. We'd encourage settings to consider allowing one or more members of staff to attend. This is a really great opportunity to learn from best practice, share experiences with peers, and network with other professionals in Norfolk.

The event will include speakers, workshops and information stands focused on SEND inclusion. We will provide more information about the individual workshops and how you can sign up for your preferred ones next week.

Please do contact us as soon as possible to book your free places. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.  Register your interest via the SEND Strategic Improvement team ssimprovement@norfolk.gov.uk
