Information

There is an exciting opportunity for primary and trust leaders in Norfolk to take up the offer of a fully funded place on the sector led Meeting the KS2 Challenge in Norfolk Conference 16 July 2024 (PDF, 174 KB).

Over the past year, primary phase schools in the Norwich have benefited from the opportunity to take part in two innovative writing projects aimed at KS1 and KS2 as part of the DfE's Priority Area initiative.

Supported by the internationally renowned Primary English consultant, Sally Rundell, these projects have already had considerable impact on the schools who have taken part. There has been significant learning from the project, particularly around the factors at leadership and teaching level that impact on low attainment in writing. Now all primary schools across Norfolk are invited to benefit from the key learning from the project.

Attending the event will enable colleagues to hear directly from both Sally Rundell and leaders of schools involved in the project, explore how learning from the project could be put into practice in their context as well consider how a shared Learning Ambition for Norfolk can improve outcomes at KS1 & KS2. There will also be an opportunity to hear from the DfE Regional Director, Jonathan Duff and James WilsonDirector of Sufficiency, Planning and Education Strategy at Norfolk County Council.

Attendees will receive a complete set of resources to support the assessment of writing in the primary phase including assessment frameworks, a portfolio of writing exemplars and subject leader resources.
