Funded Cycle Training available for primary and secondary schools.
Norfolk County Council has secured funding from The Bikeability Trust via Active Travel England to offer Norfolk children in education with funded cycling opportunities.
Bikeability offers different levels of training starting with the basics at level 1 and progressing to on-road skills training at levels 2 and 3.
Level 3 can support young people to navigate more complex on-road cycling skills and can be offered from years 6 and across the secondary school years.
We also have funded courses to support students with the knowledge to fix their bicycles.
This funded opportunity links in with schools personal health, social and economic education (PHSE) as well as FLOURISH and can promote the following benefits:
1. Physical exercise and time outdoors.
2. Developing a hobby and interests.
3. Routines and how to achieve different forms of regular exercise.
4. Building in resilience so children can make healthy and informed choices.
5. Creating independence using positive and safe cycling behaviours.
6. Inclusive learning opportunity to support all children's needs. (please discuss any bespoke needs with your provider or by emailing NCC's Bikeability co-ordinator below)
