Important information regarding Attendance Trials

The local authority has recently been challenged about the legality of trial attendance in respect of managed moves and has therefore sought advice from the DfE. Their response has made it clear that "the law does not allow for 'trial admissions'". Therefore, in order to comply with the latest statutory guidance, we can no longer support attendance trials as they are not compliant. We will be removing attendance trials from the Fair Access Protocol and the Norfolk Schools website and no further trial agreements can be accepted from the date of this e-Courier. Any trials that are currently underway can finish but, please note that if the trial fails the parent will have the right to appeal for a place at the trial school.
