Safeguarding Webinar for Designated Safeguarding Leads from Matthew Project and Change Grow Live
This 60-minute webinar is for trained DSLs. It does not replace DSL refresher training.
CGL / The Matthew Project
This webinar will be delivered by Mat Armitage of Change Grow Live (CGL) and Luke Adcock of The Matthew Project and supported by members of the Education Safeguarding Team.
Luke is the service manager for YouCan and Unity service and has 15 years' experience of working directly with children and young people (CYP) within substance misuse.
Mat is the Deputy Service Manager for Change Grow Live and has worked in substance misuse for almost 25 years in community and custody settings.
- The Matthew Project will provide an overview of the two specialist young people's drug and alcohol services in Norfolk. During the webinar we will provide some advice and guidance where there is concern for a child or young person in relation to substance misuse. This will include a presentation about the new young people's drugs and alcohol screening tool.
- Change Grow Live will give an overview of adult substance misuse in Norfolk. This will include the geographical coverage and treatment options.
Learning Outcomes
- To understand the risks of substance misuse for young people and adults
- To learn about the local treatment options and how to make a referral
- To learn what you to do in an overdose situation
There will be an opportunity to ask questions, however if all of these cannot be answered during the 60 minutes, then a member of the Safeguarding Team will get in touch with delegates via email following the webinar.
