The Department for Education has agreed to a further year of funding for the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme, ensuring that activities will run during the Easter, summer, and Christmas holidays. On Monday 10 March, we will launch the Easter 2025 Big Norfolk Holiday Fun (BNHF) programme.

Your support continues to be invaluable. Thanks to you, over 70 schools hosted or ran events in the last year, and since the beginning of the scheme in 2021, we have engaged over 19,500 children across Norfolk.

Our winter 2024 parent survey referenced a range of benefits to their children's learning and wellbeing. Here's what some parents had to say...

"It meant my SEN son could still have some form of routine and activity during the holidays."

"It has provided an exciting, safe and inclusive place for my daughter while I work."

"(My children) really enjoyed their activities and seemed to really like the people running them."

Since Easter 2024, there has been a continued trend of more positive attitudes towards physical activity and food. A consistent pattern reveals that over 60% of children that attend BNHF activities continue with physical activity and almost 70% have an improved attitude to food and cooking.

To make sure that the children you work with are aware of these free holiday activities, please help us spread the word and order free promotional materials now.

Order Bookbag Flyers

Help us promote the programme to families receiving benefits-related free school meals. You can order free flyers and posters to raise awareness.

Complete this order form to receive promotional materials for your schools.

You will have until 5:00 PM on 4 March to complete the form.

The Programme

The Big Norfolk Holiday Fun (BNHF) programme provides holiday activities for children and young people aged 4-16 in Norfolk. Children receiving benefits-related free school meals can claim up to 4 free spaces on the Easter programme, while paid spots are available on many activities for those who don't.

The programme is a fantastic way to encourage children and young people to try new things while keeping their brains and bodies active over the school holidays. All children taking part will also receive a nutritious free meal as part of the offer.

BNHF Bank Staff

Would you like to help in the Easter holidays? We are looking for experienced people who work with children and young people to join us to support our activity providers as and when needed. We are especially keen to hear from anyone who can assist children with additional needs who need 1-2-1 support.

If you are interested, and have time this Easter holiday, please complete this application form and we will be in touch.

If you have further questions about the programme, please email bnhf@norfolk.gov.uk.
