The voices of children in care, children previously in care and children with a social worker are vital in informing the work of Norfolk Virtual School. As we continue to support care-experienced children, their schools, social care teams and parents and carers, we seek the views and perspectives of students in Year 5-Year 8 and in Year 10- Year 13 in shaping our offer and changing the education narrative for care-experienced young people in our county.

We will be running two free-of-charge participation events during the summer holidays at Norfolk Snowsports Club in Trowse, Norwich, where young people currently in care, previously in care or children with a social worker are invited to meet, make new friends, discuss their experiences of education, share a pizza lunch together and then enjoy some tubing on the slopes. Whilst we want to hear from the young people about their experiences of education, the focus is also on marking a fun start to their summer break.

We would value our flyers being shared with parents and carers in Norfolk schools, as well as by Headteachers and Designated Teachers with the children in care, children previously in care and children with a social worker which they are supporting.

Spaces at both events are limited so to express an interest in attending, please email Lisa Andrews at lisa.andrews@norfolk.gov.uk by Tuesday 25 June.
