The Summer Reading Challenge supports children's literacy

The Summer Reading Challenge launches on the 6 of July in Norfolk libraries. It supports literacy, encourages reading for pleasure and mitigates against the literacy "dip" noticed by teachers in September.

Norfolk County Council has secured funding from The Bikeability Trust via Active Travel England to offer Norfolk children in education with funded cycling opportunities. We also have funded courses to support students with the knowledge to fix their bicycles.

Over the past year, primary phase schools in the Norwich have benefited from the opportunity to take part in two innovative writing projects aimed at KS1 and KS2 as part of the DfE's Priority Area initiative. Now all primary schools across Norfolk are invited to share in the key learning from the projects and attend this fully funded sector-led event.

Norfolk County Council, together with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), are interested in finding out if there is demand for a Lego League event in Norfolk in Spring 2025. This year the nearest event took place in Ipswich, and we would like to know if there is enough interest to host an event in Norfolk.
